COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Preparations continue for the opening of a new restaurant on Coldwater Lake. Vita’s Cafe & Castaway Lounge will be located at 632 Lake Drive in the building that used to be the site of The Boathouse and The Wharf.
The building has been unoccupied since the Nuevo Vallarta Bar and Grill suddenly shut down operations last September.
Susan Lindmann of Fort Wayne will be running the restaurant which is scheduled to open sometime in August once the freshening up and the cleaning of the inside concludes. Plans call for Vita’s Café and Castaway Lounge to offer a Mediterranean flair .
According to its Facebook page, a pair of boats that were part of the original restaurant interior have been removed as part of the building’s renovation.
The restaurant plans to be open year round.
Initially they will offer breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday. They plan to add dinner hours later. Vita’s will be only be open Sundays for brunch.
