DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Jorge Soler homered twice, doubled, and drove in five runs as the Royals clobbered the Tigers 10-2 in Detroit.
Tigers pitchers yielded five home runs. Whit Merrifield homered and drove in three runs, while Hunter Dozier added two solo shots. Jakob Junis allowed two runs over six innings to pick up the victory as Kansas City split the four-game series.
Daniel Norris absorbed the loss, yielding four runs over three innings. Niko Goodrum homered and drive in both Detroit runs. The Tigers are 3-and-3 in their last six games.
Left-hander Matthew Boyd will be on the mound tomorrow night as the Tigers open a three-game series with the Mariners at Comerica Park. Edwin Jackson and Spencer Turnbull will start the final two games for Detroit.
