COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School girls varsity basketball team notched their first victory of the season with a convincing 62-22 win over the visiting Hastings Saxons Tuesday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
A fourth quarter 3-point basket enabled McDonald’s Player of the Game Carlee Crabtree to become the fourth player to join the 1000 point club and leaves her 66 points away from becoming the all-time leading scorer. Crabtree finished with 28 points, five steals and three assists.
Jayla Foster had a big night with six points, nine rebounds, four assists and five defensive deflections.
Coldwater improves to 1-3 and will travel to Marshall on Friday.
-The Coldwater freshman girls basketball team lost at Olivet 34-8 Tuesday night. Ilsa Katz and Brooklin Feldbauer had 4 points apiece for the Cardinals.

Haley Hinds hit the winning shot with time running out as Quincy improved to 4-1 with a 44-42 victory at Calhoun Christian.
