ADRIAN, MI (WTVB) – In high school gymnastics, Coldwater won a conference match-up at Adrian Wednesday night 130.05 to 107.875.
The Cardinals dominated the Maples, winning all four events, taking the top four places in the all-around, and collecting 23 Regional qualifying scores. It was the second straight team qualifying score for Coldwater.
Randi Dudek led Coldwater on the uneven bars as she posted a personal best of 7.575 points and earned a first place finish. Second place went to McKenna Hantz on the unvenens as she earned who earns 7.325 points. Coldwater‘s Layla Schoch scored a 7.25 for third place.
McKenna Hantz won the vault with her impressive score of 8.6 points. Layla Schoch was second with an 8.45 showing a consistency with her half on, half off vault.
Coldwater swept the top five places in the floor exercise. Leah Goodwin earned top honors with her score of 8.6 points. Second place went to Abby Travelbee with 8.35 points, followed close behind by Layla Schoch at 8.275 points.
Goodwin also finished first on the balance beam with a score of 8.7. She was followed close behind by Abby Travelbee‘s beam routine with an 8.65 points. Freshman Randi Dudek completed two advanced high superior skills for the first time in competition to score 8.325 points and finish in third place.
In the all-around competition Coldwater took the top five places led by Travelbee who tallied 32.475 points. Goodwin was right behind her, taking second place with 32.425 points. Schoch collected the third place finish at 31.95 points. Dudek totaled 31.85 points for her effort. Hantz rounded out the Cardinal lineup with her tally of 30.5 points.
Coldwater will travel to Rockford High School for their invitational January 4, 2020.
