COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After two nights of interviewing candidates during special meetings to fill a vacancy on the Coldwater School Board, the board voted on Wednesday night to appoint Kate Frederick to the position.
The appointment is effective this Saturday, February 1st.
The Coldwater native and 2004 graduate of Coldwater High School is a former instructor and Archaeologist at Michigan State University.
She is now serving as an adjunct professor at Olivet College.
Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Whelan told the District Board of Education Monday night that ten persons had initially expressed interest in serving on the board.
The vacancy was created last month when Jean Milnes stepped down.
