UNDATED – (WTVB) – A 911 outage overnight in the State of Michigan did not affect services at Branch County Central Dispatch.
Michigan State Police reported Friday morning that the statewide 911 outage issues have been fixed.
Calhoun, Hillsdale and Kalamazoo Counties were among the counties affected.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department reported at 6:40 a.m. that all 911 lines were stable in Calhoun County with full restoration.
The Kalamazoo County Consolidated Dispatch Authority reported at 4:45 a.m. that all 911 and non-emergency telephone services had been restored.
The outage was apparently caused by a fiber optic issue. Many services were affected for nearly four hours as dispatchers worked to fix the problem.
Dispatchers told anyone in need to call their local non-emergency lines if the 911 lines were not functioning.
