KALAMAZOO, MI. – (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Noella Keplinger won the girls bowling individual title on Saturday at the M.H.S.A.A. Division Two regionals in Kalamazoo. She was one of four Coldwater bowlers who finished in the girls top ten and qualfied for next week’s M.H.S.A.A. Individual Finals in Waterford.
The Coldwater girls team qualified for the team finals on Friday by winning the regional championship by over 600 pins.
The individual format consists of six games. Keplinger rolled a 265 in her first game. She got into the 200’s twice more with games of 219 and 203 as she edged Kadence Bottrall of Wayland by five pins to win the title.
Coldwater’s Allison Caswell was fourth while Rilee Cooper-Lewis was fifth and Cassie Pokorny was seventh.
Caswell had a high game of 227 while Cooper-Lewis had a 213 and Pokorny had a 214.
None of the Coldwater boys managed to qualify for the individual state finals. Kai Kinsey rolled a 257 in his second game as he finished in a 12th place tie and was just 23 pins out of the last qualifying spot. Chase Rubley had a 205 while Logan Cleckner rolled a 206.
