AUBURN, IN. – (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was ordered to serve two years in an Indiana prison on Monday after entering a guilty plea to stalking for making harassing phone calls to a woman.
The Star and KPC News reports 61-year-old Leroy Leland was given a total sentence of four years with two years suspended in the case that was filed in DeKalb County. Leland was also placed on probation for two years and was given credit for 167 days already served.
In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed a charge of harassment.
The Star and KPC News also report that according to court documents, the victim in the case was from Garrett, Indiana.
According to Michigan Department of Corrections records, Leland was sentenced in 1990 to 20 to 40 years in prison on a conviction to first degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person under the age of 13 in Branch County. He was discharged from prison in November of 2017.
