COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Terry Whelan has announced an adjustment to the schedule for their grab and go breakfasts and lunches that are being given to families during the districts shutdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In order to help families with the gas expense associated with picking up food on a daily basis, the district will be going to a two-day a week pickup schedule starting Monday.
On Monday, March 23, families will be able to pick up three servings of breakfast and three servings of lunch for every child which will cover Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Thursday, March 26, families will be able to pick up four bags of breakfast and four bags of lunch which will provide each student with food for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The pickup locations will be at Jefferson Elementary and at Legg Middle School from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday and Thursday for the next two weeks. Families can drive up to the curb and the food will be handed through the car windows.
Drivers are asked to use the Western Avenue parent parking lot at Legg Middle School and the Vans Avenue parent loop at Jefferson Elementary. There is no cost to families for this food or service.
