COLDWATER, MI – (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency announced late Monday afternoon that they have been notified of the first positive COVID-19 case in Hillsdale County.
The individual is an adult male who has been self-isolating.
The C.H.A. will contact people who have been in close contact with the man and will assess for symptons.
The announcement came hours after Governor Whitmer signed a three week “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order which will be in effect for all Michigan residents until April 13, 2020.
Health Officer Rebecca Burns says residents in the three counties can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by staying home and following the order. She also urged residents to practice social distancing, wash their hands, avoid touching the face and disinfect commonly touched surfaces.
