COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – Branch County Prosecutor Val White says while her office and all other county offices remain closed to the public due to the COVID-19 outbreak, her office’s reduced staff is performing essential services.
Those services include felony preliminary examinations or matters pertaining to in custody defendants.
White says her office is continuing to review and authorize criminal charges for in custody matters or cases involving serious violence or risk of violence.
Proceedings for personal protection orders, involuntary commitment hearings as well as hearings involving juvenile justice or child protection may still be held.
Victims and witnesses are asked to call the witness line as detailed on their subpoena.
