HILLSDALE, MI. – (WTVB) – Hillsdale Hospital has launched Virtual Visits which allows patients to be seen by their doctors and providers while they are home.
Hospital officials said in a news release that the service was already in the works, but social distancing and the stay home order due to COVID-19 sped up the launch.
Patients can book a Virtual Visit just by calling their provider’s office.
The patient only needs a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and safe web browser.
The hospital currently has seven providers and are hoping to add more as quickly as they can.
Chief Operating Officer J.J. Hodshire says “with the need for people to stay home as much as possible, we saw that many patients delaying care or deciding not to seek it altogether. To ensure that our community still gets the care they need, we launched early.”
