COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Sunday there were seven new COVID-19 cases in the tri-county jurisdiction.
Two new cases were reported in Branch County which brought the county’s number of positive cases outside of the Lakeland Correctional Facility since the outbreak began up to 49 as of 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Hillsdale County has 113 cases after four new positive tests were reported on Sunday. One additional case brought the number of positive cases in St. Joseph County up to 28.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department reports that as of 11:00 a.m. on Monday there have been 203 positive COVID-19 cases in its jurisdiction. There have been 52 hospitalizations with 16 persons still in the hospital. They also reported an 11th death from the virus in its jurisdiction on Monday.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports that as of April 23, there were 20 positive COVID-19 patients at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital with 15 in the intensive care unit.
Branch County is in a district with Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, St. Joseph, Cass, Berrien, Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties. The district has 1,022 out of a total of 2,068 hospital beds occupied.
