COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities have a new personnel policy after the 96-page document was approved on Monday night by the City Council.
City Manager Keith Baker said it took 18 months to put together.
Various fragmented personnel policies have been adopted over the years but it was felt now was the time to have a more unified manual.
Baker said they worked with the Michigan Municipal League as well as its labor attorney to create the manual and to make sure documents matched current benefits, work rules and personnel practices.
Among the items covered were hiring and employment rules as well as classification and compensation, health benefits and leaves.
