SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies say three people were caught stealing shoes from a middle school.
Authorities were dispatched for a security alarm at Springfield Middle School off of Avenue A in Springfield, west of Battle Creek just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
When they arrived they located an unsecured door and found three individuals coming out of the school with multiple pairs of shoes that belonged to students.
A 26-year-old Battle Creek man and a 22-year-old Springfield woman were booked at the Calhoun County Jail for breaking and entering charges. A 16-year-old Springfield teen was released to his mother pending charges.
Deputies do not believe anything else was taken from inside the school, but they’re continuing to look into the investigation.
