COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two suspects charged in connection with an alleged robbery at a local apartment on June 13 waved their preliminary exams in Branch County District Court Thursday morning and their cases were bound over to Circuit Court.
39-year-old Justin Posante is facing charges of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and larceny from a person.
He is being held in the Branch County Jail on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear for a Circuit Court pre-trial conference October 5, 2020.
He is charged with possession of methamphetamine in a separate case.
23-year-old Elaine Alexis Clark is facing charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and larceny from a person. A pre-trial conference in Circuit Court has been scheduled for September 28. Clark is being held in the Branch County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Coldwater Police and Michigan State Police investigated the cases.
According to court documents, the alleged victim was threatened with a knife and choked before his wallet and items from his apartment were stolen.
