COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported 24 new COVID-19 cases in Branch County on Thursday bringing a two day total to 42.
The total number of positive cases in Branch County has jumped up to 416 since late March when the first case was reported. A total of 106 Branch County cases have been reported so far during the month of August.
C.H.A. Health Officer Rebecca Burns says the higher than usual number of cases this week has been caused by state mandated testing for agricultural and migrant workers.
Health officials continue to urge residents to get tested for COVID-19 even if they are not experiencing any of the virus symptoms.
Free COVID-19 dri.ve through testing was held on Thursday at the Hillsdale I.S.D..
The C.H.A. plans to have a similair event in Branch County. A date has not been announced yet.
