COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported 18 new COVID-19 cases in Branch County on Wednesday which was the biggest one day total for the county in over three weeks.
That brought the total number of positive cases in Branch County up to 392 since late March when the first case was reported. A total of 82 Branch County cases have been reported so far during the month of August.
C.H.A. Health Officer Rebecca Burns says the higher than usual number of cases on Wednesday was caused by state mandated testing for agricultural and migrant workers.
Health officials continue to urge residents to get tested for COVID-19 even if they are not experiencing any of the virus symptoms.
The latest Branch County COVID-19 statistics from the C.H.A. show that those between 25 and 39 years have had the most cases with 141.
In addition, 256 males have tested positive compared to 136 females.
