COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has confirmed a fourth Branch County resident has passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.
No further information on the deceased person is available at this time.
The latest death is at least the 41st person in the C.H.A. jurisdiction to pass away after being positive for coronavirus. Hillsdale County has had 26 of those deaths while 11 deaths have been reported in St. Joseph County.
Branch County has had a total of 453 cases reported as of Thursday which includes 119 cases since August 12.
Health Officer Rebecca Burns says this follows a state mandate that was issued about a month ago that called for the COVID-19 testing of migrate and agricultural workers.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph County has had 595 COVID-19 cases reported so far while Hillsdale County has had 281 cases.
