COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a proposed Time of Use electrical rate for its largest industrial customers during their monthly meeting Wednesday.
CBPU Director Jeff Budd told the board that ultimately, the goal is to gradually move all customers to a T.O.U. rate over the course of several years.
The CBPU has worked on the proposed rate with consultant Utility Financial Solutions.
Budd feels a T.O.U. rate is a more accurate way to charge customers for how they use and when they use power.
It will be available to any customer who meets the minimum load requirement of 10,000 KW.
The T.O.U. rate and changes to the Rules, Regulations and Rates were forwarded to City Council for their adoption.
