COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A high speed chase involving a stolen vehicle that started in Hillsdale ended on Anderson Drive at the entrance to the Sauk River Apartments in Coldwater late Tuesday night when the vehicle crashed.
Hillsdale City Police Chief Scott Hephner reports one of his officers grew suspicious of a sport utility vehicle near the Hillsdale County Fairgrounds.
The pursuit started sometime after 11:00 p.m. when the driver in the S.U.V. took off as the officer turned on his emergency lights.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police joined Hillsdale Police in the pursuit which eventually got onto U.S. 12 and headed west into Branch County.
State Police say after the vehicle wrecked, they and Coldwater Police set up a perimeter but they were unable to apprehend any suspects.
Hillsdale Police say authorities are not only looking for the male driver but two female passengers as well.
The vehicle involved in the chase was reported to be stolen out of Mattawan. The 2009 Toyota RAV4 was impounded and will be turned over to Hillsdale County authorities.



That was my car that was stolen. I am truly heartbroken I loved that car and had just paid it off in March. Hope they are caught and pay for what they have done!!
