COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of the candidates for a partial term second ward seat on the Coldwater City Council has announced he is moving out of Coldwater and would decline the seat if he won in the November election.
William “Bill” Goodman posted on the Coldwater Area Chatter Facebook page that he will be moving into his mother and father’s old house in Quincy which has been in his family for 40 years in hopes of saving it.
Goodman’s name will remain on the ballot. Current City Council members Chad Johnson is the other candidate.
Johnson was appointed to the seat in April when long time Council member Chris Pierce stepped down. The term for the seat expires in November of 2023.
