COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Dr. Robert W. Browne Aquatic Center on Coldwater’s west side will reopen at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16th, after being closed to the public for nearly six months due to executive orders from Governor Whitmer that kept fitness centers and pools closed during the coronavirus pandemic.
Initially, the Aquatic Center will be open only for open lap swimming by members, who will need to call 517-279-5920 during regular business hours to make pool time reservations. Masks will need to be worn at all times when not in the water, and since locker rooms will be off-limits, members must arrive and depart in their swimsuits. The warm water therapy pool will also be closed, and water aerobics classes and swim lessons will be on hold for the time being.
It is hoped that as members continue to follow the most stringent rules, Aquatic Center staff will be able to progress forward through multiple phases and eventually allow more activities and return to more normal operations.
