COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a resolution Monday night which would lead to the purchase of a snow making machine for Heritage Park’s Kiwanis Hill.
The resolution approved a $20,000 donation from the Coldwater Kiwanis Club and further authorizes the city to spend just over $30,000 to buy the snow making machine from SMI Snowmakers of Midland.
The city was first approached by the Kiwanis Club about a year ago about increasing the usability of Kiwanis Hill.
Kiwanis Club of Coldwater President Ray Sebastian said the location of Kiwanis Hill is great and this will create more winter recreational opportunities for families this winter.
The City would accept the future maintenance and operational responsibility of the equipment. A three phase electrical service would also have to be extended by the City at a cost of about $14,000. The Coldwater B.P.U. Electrical Department will perform the work.
