BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The weekly U.S. Drought Monitor report which was released on Thursday shows conditions have improved in Branch County.
There are no longer any areas of the county which are considered to be in a moderate drought.
Abnormally dry conditions are reported throughout Branch, Hillsdale, St. Joseph and Calhoun Counties.
Moderate drought conditions remain in northeast Indiana and a small portion of northwest Ohio.
The M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm west of Coldwater measured less than two inches of rain between July 17 and August 28.
But since that time, over three inches of rain has been measured at that location including 1.19 inches on August 29 and just under two inches (1.92) on September 8.
