COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the County Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday that the roof on the new Branch County Jail is expected to be in place by the end of the month.
He said the roof is 90 percent completed while masonry work was 85 percent done.
With the building getting the roof on in a few weeks, this will allow for work to be done on the interior during the upcoming winter months.
Norman added other parts of the project are either wrapping up or are finished.
Workers are done with work on the paving, fencing and landscaping while the pouring of office floors has begun
According to Norman, the construction is still on schedule and the new jail is slated to open next September.
