BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Spencer Rodesiler rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns while Cameron Torres ran for 94 yards and a touchdown as the Coldwater Cardinals opened the 2020 season with a 50-21 victory on Friday night at Jackson Northwest.
Torres and quarterback Cooper Fredlund scored first quarter touchdowns to give the Cardinals a 14-0 lead.
Rodesiler’s first TD of the night from 88 yards out and a DeAndre Douglas four yard score accounted for the Coldwater scoring in the second quarter as the Cardinals built a 29-6 halftime lead.
Rodesiler added two more touchdowns in the third quarter from 37 and 38 yards out. Ryan Omo’s three yard scamper in the fourth quarter closed out the Coldwater scoring.
Coldwater finished with 484 yards on the ground and controlled the ball for almost 26 minutes.
Douglas led the defense with seven tackles while Omo and Fredlund both had six tackles.
The Cardinals host Marshall next Friday night.
