BRANCH COUNTY, MI. – (WTVB) – To the relief of Branch County drivers, the Fenn Road bridge over I-69 has finally re-opened to traffic.
Work on the overpass was part of a $7.7 million Michigan Department of Transportation project this summer on I-69 in Branch County.
MDOT has been working on 12 miles of I-69 between Girard and Otis Roads as well as the Fenn, State and Newton Road bridges over the interstate.
Work on the Fenn and State Road overpasses started in early April and were originally scheduled to end in the middle of July.
Crews are now working on the Newton Road bridge over I-69 and MDOT says the construction is scheduled to end October 30th, 2020.
Repairs to the bridges include concrete deck repairs and repaving, full beam painting and approach work.
One lane of I-69 between Jonesville and State Roads will remain open in each direction throughout construction.
Newton Road traffic is being detoured via Fiske Road, State Road and Michigan Avenue.
