BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The election is less than five weeks away but some have already voted so they can ignore the robo calls, the mail pamphlets and the endless and sometime annoying political ads.
As of Tuesday, there have been over 2.5 million requests for absentee ballots in the State of Michigan.
Statistics from the state show there have been 7,147 requests in Branch County. That includes 2,098 in the City of Coldwater, 753 in Coldwater Township and 197 in the City of Bronson.
Ovid Township has a recreational marijuana question on the ballot and there have been 594 absentee ballot requests there.

As of Tuesday, a total of 317 absentee ballots have been turned into township clerks around Branch County. The Secretary of State’s office is recommending voters mail in ballots before October 19. After that date, voters are being asked to return ballots by either putting it in a drop box or bringing it into local clerk offices.
