DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to one-year contract extensions for forwards Adam Erne and Taro Hirose.
Erne was acquired in a trade with Tampa Bay in August 2019 and had five points in 56 games with Detroit last season. Hirose, a Michigan State product, scored 14 points in 36 NHL games after signing with the Red Wings in March 2019.
Red Wings prospect defenseman Moritz Seider will play hockey in the Swedish Elite League this season. Detroit’s 2019 first-round draft pick had been playing with a team in Germany.
Seider had 22 points in 49 games last year with the Red Wings AHL affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins.
