DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has signed five players since late last week. Detroit did not offer any of the new players contracts for more than two years and the team still has around $18 million left in salary cap space.
Yzerman said the organization has flexibility to do a lot of different things and they’re just trying to move cautiously. Yzerman is also looking at re-signing restricted free agents Tyler Bertuzzi and Anthony Mantha.
He says he is confident that deals will get done with both players.
