MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Legg Middle School 7th grade girls volleyball teams both lost at Marshall on Tuesday night.
The A team suffered its first loss of the season to Marshall 25-20, 25-15, 15-8 to fall to 5-1 on the season. Coldwater had a bright moment as Olivia Golematis made her first serve of the year, Mya Porter was 7-7, Ciarra Paul 8-10 with 2 aces, Coley Burkhardt 8-9 with 2 aces, Maddie Moore 6-7 with 2 aces, Halie McFarland 4-4 with 1 ace, Marin Debeau 1-4 and Braylinn Austin 1-3. Mya Porter had 22 digs on the night followed by McFarland and Moore with 8 each, Burkhardt and Paul 7 each, Kendra Bassett 5, Debeau 3 and Golematis 2. Coley Burkhardt had 8 kills, Mya Porter 3 & Marin Debeau 1
The B team lost to Marshall 12-25, 18-25, 7-15. Leading in scoring was Ava Gilchrist going 5/8 with 4 aces, Carly Krzyzanski 5/6 2 aces, Bailey Kasperski 3/4 with 1 ace, Madison Stumpf 3/5, Maria Ortiz 2/3, and Gracie Heath was 2/4.
The Legg 8th grade volleyball teams split their matches with Marshall. The A team lost 16-25 5-25. Leading the team was Ellianna Foley with 17 points 2 aces, 2 assists and 3 digs. Ava Longstreet with 4 points, 2 aces and 2 kills. Drew Sharpley and Claire Hawver with 2 points each. The B team beat Marshall 16-25, 25-18 15-13. Leading the team was Ella O’Grady 12 points, 7 aces and 2 kills. Virginia Rodriguez 6 points with 2 aces and one kill. Lexi Scott, Zoie Wohlgamuth and Macy Stanton 3 points each. Bri Scialabba with one assist and one kill.
