BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – For the first time since 2015, the Bronson Vikings have back-to-back victories in high school football.
In front of a Senior Night crowd on Friday, the Vikings rallied from a 16-8 halftime deficit and scored 20 unanswered points in the second half as they defeated Branch County rival Quincy 28-16. It was also Bronson’s first victory over Quincy in football since 2011.
Bronson quarterback Jordan Shadix was 6 of 10 in the air for 127 yards and one touchdown. He also carried the ball 15 times for 70 yards and a TD. Justin Blankenship rushed 25 times for 177 yards which included a 46-yard touchdown. Archie Cook caught an 18 yard TD pass for the Vikings.
The Quincy scores came on a five yard fumble return by Jacob Foley and a 12-yard TD by quarterback Landon Kelley. Kelley led the Orioles in rushing with 79 yards on 17 carries. Blaine Pish led the Quincy defense with nine tackles.
The Vikings improved their record to 2-2 while the Orioles dropped to 1-4.
The Union City Chargers got back on the right track as they won at Springport 36-6. The Chargers improved their record to 2-3.
