COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater will host a public open house on Tuesday, October 20 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in order to gather public input for the Branch County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The meeting will be held at the Heritage Hall in Heritage Park.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says such a plan is important to the community.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Masks and social distancing practices will be followed.
The purpose of the meeting is to solicit information from citizens in an open house setting. Baker says public input is critical in assisting the planning team to identify and analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommend possible actions to reduce their impact.
The hazards involve most natural and man-made disasters.
The goal of the Hazard Mitigation Plan is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards by identifying and implementing cost-effective mitigation actions.
The draft Hazard Mitigation Plan can be downloaded from the Branch County web site and reviewed prior to the meeting.
