COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has announced another chance for residents in Branch, Hillsdale and St. Joseph Counties to get tested for COVID-19.
It will be held next Tuesday, October 27 at the Branch Area Transit Authority bus garage at 306 South Clay from 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m..
The Community Health Agency and the Michigan National Guard will be on hand for the free testing which will be done on a first come, first served basis for Michigan residents.
Those who attend are asked to bring an identification. Minors can be tested if they are calm and with a parent.
The State of Michigan is covering the costs of testing at this event and insurance is not required.
Nasopharyngeal tests will be administered to determine whether persons currently have COVID-19. Antibody testing will not be done at this event.
The testing is being provided courtesy of the State of Michigan, the Michigan National Guard, the Michigan State Police and the Community Health Agency.
The C.H.A. reported on Monday that 25 new cases have been reported in Branch County over the last three days bringing the total number of cases up to 691 since the pandemic began last March. St. Joseph County also had three new COVID-19 related deaths which brought that county’s death toll up to 15. The number of COVID-19 related deaths in the C.H.A.’s jurisdiction is now up to 51.
