BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – There are very few contested races in the townships around Branch County in this year’s General Election.
The only contested Supervisors race is in Algansee Township where Russell Jennings is running against Sharon Atkinson.
There will be four contested races for township trustee seats.
Marilyn Johnson, Bobbi Snyder and Bryan Washburn are running in Union Township. The Gilead Township trustee race features Richard Chard, Aaron Miller and C.J. Ransbottom. The three trustee candidates in Coldwater Township are Ted Short, Mary Daniels and Amaryllis Thomas. In Bethal Township, Robin Kehoe, Rod Hathaway and Jerry Haylett are running for trustee.
The top two vote getters in the trustee races will be elected.
There are no contested Township Clerk races and just two contested Township Treasurer races. James Webb is running against Tonia Vorce in Bethal Township while Tara Powell is running against Clair Clifford Augustine in Union Township.
