COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Road Commission reports that the Fiske Road bridge over the Sauk River is closed to all traffic until repairs can be made.
As of right now, there is not an estimation as to how long the bridge between North Fall River Drive and South Fall River Drive will be closed.
Coldwater Township Supervisor Don Rogers said in a post on the township’s Facebook page that the bridge was closed at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after a bridge inspection company hired by the Branch County Road Commission found major structural damage to the supports of the bridge.
The road commission will be investigating further and will consult with the Michigan Department of Transportation on the repairs.
Anybody who uses this stretch of Fiske Road for travel will need to avoid the bridge and seek an alternate route.
