MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater boys cross-country team finished with runner-up honors this season in the Interstate 8 Conference. At the I-8 Championship Meet on Tuesday, Harper Creek again reigned supreme in the boys competition. The Beavers finished first with 40 followed by Coldwater with 62 and Marshall with 82.
Coldwater’s John Aerts (16:38.4) finished fourth , Myron Lafty (17:02.8) was seventh and Jarron Herlan (17:26.2) was tenth as they all earned All-Conference honors in the championship race.
Marshall likewise completed an undefeated season in the girls competition. The Red Hawks won with 52 points followed by Parma Western with 61 points and Jackson Lumen Christi with 63. Coldwater was sixth in the team standings.
Coldwater’s Legend Szafranski (19:41.8) finished in fifth place on Tuesday, earning her third career All-Conference award in the I-8.
