STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater boys cross country team advanced to next weekend’s regional round as they finished third while Coldwater’s Legend Szfranski won the girls race on Saturday at the M.H.S.A.A. Division Two pre-regional meet at Sturgis.
Only five points separated the top three teams in the boys meet as Berrien Springs finished first with 45 points followed by Three Rivers with 49 points and Coldwater with 50.
Coldwater’s John Aerts (17:22.89) finished fifth while Myron Lafty was sixth, Antonio Potter was eighth and Jarron Herlan was 13th.
Szfranski won the girls race in a time of 20:28.18 and qualified for next week’s regional meet as a individual. Coldwater finished sixth in the final team standings.
