COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Fiske Road bridge over the Sauk River reopened on Tuesday afternoon after being shut down for a week.
The bridge was shut down last Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m..
Coldwater Township Supervisor Don Rogers said at the time inspectors hired by the Branch County Road Commission found major structural damage to the supports of the bridge.
Branch County Road Commission Engineer and Manager Jay Miller says crews from Davis Construction in Lansing were able reinstall a timber pillar and secure it.
A inspection after the repairs were made determined the bridge between North Fall River Drive and South Fall River Drive was safe.
The repairs were made after the Road Commission consulted with the Michigan Department of Transportation on the repairs.
