COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has notified Coldwater Community Schools of two School Associated Cases of COVID-19.
A “School Associated Case” means a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19 amongst students, teachers, staff members, coaches, volunteers or any other person who was present on school property, or at a school function under circumstances that may result in the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 during the infectious period.
Coldwater Schools Superintendent Terry Whelan says in a letter posted on the district’s web site that the cases are located at the Transportation Department.
Students and staff who have been identified as close contacts have been informed directly by the Community Health Agency or the school district. If you have not received communication from the health department or school district, you are not impacted. No further action is required and you do not need to contact the school.
Whelan says as a result of this notice, the district Bus Garage has undergone enhanced sanitation protocols as guided by the Health Department and CDC Guidelines in accordance with the district’s Preparedness and Response Plan.
She adds the Coldwater district has been notified of seven School Associated Cases since October 12.
