QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy School Board approved raises and step increases for teachers and support staff during a Special Meeting that was conducted via Zoom on Wednesday night.
The special meeting was called after Quincy Community Schools and the Quincy Education Association agreed to reopen negotiations on wages in this school year’s contract.
Superintendent Marc Kramer says the board approved having teachers get a base rate increase of one-point-five percent in the salary schedule with steps, lanes and longevity as warranted by the contract.
Members of the support staff that are eligible for a scheduled step increase will be receiving it.
Those support staff members at the top of the scale that would have received no increase from a step or raise this year will be receiving a $500 stipend.
Wednesday’s formal action was taken after K-12 education funding was not cut in the state budget that was adopted last month.
