OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Ovid Township voters will get a chance on Tuesday to decide if they want recreational marijuana establishments in the township.
A petition to replace the township ordinance that was adopted in February of 2019 that would prohibit marijuana establishments was filed earlier this year and a resolution was adopted during the August township board meeting.
It was stated on the township’s web site that the Ovid Township Board neither condones nor opposes this petition.
The Adult-Use Marijuana Establishments Ordinance would authorize two marijuana retail establishments within Ovid Township pursuant to the Michigan Regulations and Taxation of Marijuana Act.
It would include provisions for the incidental licensing fees, application criteria, and operational regulations.
