COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The statistics posted Monday by the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency indicate the recent surge of local COVID-19 cases is not slowing down.
Since last Friday, 65 new cases were reported in Branch County which brought the total number of cases since last March to 902.
In addition, there were 77 new cases in St. Joseph County and 50 new cases in Hillsdale County. The total number of St. Joseph County cases since the pandemic started now stands at 1,242 while Hillsdale County has had 560.
Hillsdale County has had 29 COVID-19 related deaths while there has been 23 deaths in St. Joseph County and 11 in Branch County.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department reported 248 new cases and two more deaths from the weekend on Monday. Calhoun County has now had 3,052 COVID-19 cases and 68 deaths related to the virus.
The State of Michigan reports of the nearly 185,000 persons who tested positive for COVID-19, nearly 121,000 have recovered.
