COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Engineering Manager Jim Odneal told the B.P.U. Board of Directors on Wednesday that this week’s power outage that affected a large number of customers can be blamed on the sensitivity of new electronic relays.
Monday evening’s outage was reported at 5:45 p.m. and lasted for a couple of hours.
Coldwater B.P.U. Director Jeff Budd says the outage was caused by equipment failure at their substation which is located at State and Michigan Avenue.
Odneal says crews were able to make final repairs to the substation on Wednesday and that it was now operating normally.
