OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Ovid Township voters said yes on Tuesday to having recreational marijuana establishments in the township.
The Adult-Use Marijuana Establishments Ordinance passed 790-657. It would authorize two marijuana retail establishments within Ovid Township pursuant to the Michigan Regulations and Taxation of Marijuana Act.
The question was placed on Tuesday’s ballot after a petition to replace a township ordinance prohibiting marijuana establishments was filed earlier this year.
The previous ordinance was adopted in February of 2019.
The Adult-Use Marijuana Establishments Ordinance includes provisions for incidental licensing fees, application criteria and operational regulations.
