BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson School Superintendent Steve Wilson acknowledged in a video posted on the district’s Facebook page on Tuesday that not everyone will be in favor of the district having students attend classes for a half day on Fridays starting on November 13.
He says they have been placed in a situation by state mandates and such that “our teachers are working very very hard….they are some of the hardest working teachers I have ever worked with….I am proud of their effort….but at some point, something’s got to give.”
Wilson says the half day of classes on Fridays will give teachers more time to plan their lessons and help out on line students who need assistance.
“We don’t feel like we are able to devote time to our on line students that we would like to give”.
Wilson said some of the of the details were still being worked out and more information will be coming out soon.
The alteration in the Friday schedule was approved by the Bronson School Board on Monday night by a 5-2 vote.
