COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the Coldwater City Council on Monday night that the City had a record turnout last Tuesday for the presidential election.
He said if the 8,365 registered voters in the City of Coldwater, 4,873 total ballots were cast. This represents a 58 percent turnout.
President Donald Trump carried the City of Coldwater over Democratic nominee Joe Biden 2,757 to 1,985. Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen collected 63 votes. Trump won all four precincts in Coldwater although Biden only lost Precinct One 486-483.
In the U.S. Senate race, Republican challenger John James also carried Coldwater 2,669 to 1,938 over Democratic incumbent Gary Peters. James carried precincts two, three and four but Peters won Coldwater first precinct 477-457.
