COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There has been no easing up in the recent surge of Branch County COVID-19 cases.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Monday there have been 94 new Branch County cases over the last three days. That brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began up to 1,116.
The C.H.A. no longer issues daily reports on Saturday and Sunday like they did earlier in the pandemic.
In addition, there was another COVID-19 related death over the weekend which brought Branch County’s COVID-19 related death toll up to 14.
There were a higher number of weekend cases in the other two counties the C.H.A. serves. St. Joseph County had 114 new cases over the last three days while 103 new cases were reported during that same time in Hillsdale County. St. Joseph County has had 1,545 cases and 24 deaths while Hillsdale County has recorded 721 cases and 29 deaths.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department reported six more COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend which brought the county’s death toll up to 80. They also said there have been 354 new coronavirus cases since Friday. That brought the total number of cases up to 3,661 with 1,604 released from isolation and 1,047 released from quarantine.
There are 33 confirmed COVID-19 persons currently in a Calhoun County hospital bed. That’s down from last week.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says there were 9,010 new cases from Sunday and Monday along with 62 additional deaths. Of the 216,804 cases so far in Michigan, 128,981 persons have recovered from the virus.
