COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Men and women who served the United States in the military were honored on Wednesday during a Veterans Day ceremony in front of the Coldwater American Legion Post #52 on West Chicago.
At 11:00 a.m., which was the time hostilities ceased at the end of World War One, there was a 21 gun salute and the playing of taps.
Charles Scott from the Veterans Affairs office in Coldwater told those who gathered inside of the Legion that the Veterans Administration has been the best its ever been over the last four years and he hopes if there is a new administration that nothing changes.
He also asked that if anyone knows of a veteran who needs assistance, they can help with money, food or equipment such as wheel chairs.
Scott’s office is next door to the Branch County Sheriff’s Department on Marshall Road. The office phone number is (517) 279-4322.
